Oriental Poppy 'Beauty of Livermere' is a breathtaking perennial poppy with bold, silky, deep scarlet-red blooms and striking black centres. Each flower makes a dramatic impact in the late spring to early summer border, rising above clumps of lush, hairy foliage. Long-lived and low-maintenance, this variety is a showstopper and a must-have for classic cottage gardens and perennial beds.

Type: Hardy Perennial
Height: 90 – 100 cm
Spread: 45 – 60 cm
Flowers: May – July
Position: Full sun; fertile, well-drained soil (prefers slightly sandy soil)

Growing Information

Sow Indoors: Mar–May or Aug–Oct, on the surface of moist compost (do not cover – needs light to germinate)
Germination: 14 – 28 days at 15 – 20°C
Transplant: Prick out when large enough and grow on in pots. Plant out in final position in spring or autumn.
Spacing: 45 – 60 cm apart
Care: Cut back after flowering. Mulch in winter. Avoid disturbing once established, as they dislike being moved.
