  • Soccerstarz - Chelsea Ramires - Home Kit

3 Ramires joined Chelsea in the summer of 2010 on a four-year contract after one season with Benfica. A Chelsea debut arrived in a 2-0 win against Stoke in late August, Ramires appearing for the final few minutes in place of Michael Essien, before a first start at West Ham and full games against Blackpool in the Premier League and Newcastle in the Carling Cup. In total there were 22 starts in his first campaign, with the Brazilian providing a committed presence during the side's winless two months between November and December, and winning a late penalty at White Hart Lane that gave us the chance to beat Spurs. A first Chelsea goal arrived in the 4-0 demolition of Bolton Wanderers in late January, and the mobbing he received showed how popular the player is at Stamford Bridge. In late March he scored his second Chelsea goal, dancing between two Manchester City defenders before firing high into the top corner. It was a strike deemed worthy of the club's Goal of the Season award by supporters. Ramires missed our pre-season tour of Asia in 2011 due to Copa America duty, but returned to England in sparkling form, and proved a key component in Andre Villas-Boas's Chelsea at the start of the 2011/12 campaign, figuring as a regular on the right of a midfield three, and contributing greater drive going forward. Two early season goals against Swansea suggested a bright campaign ahead. The Brazilian remained an important part of the midfield throughout the autumn and winter, before a medial ligament injury to his right knee in the FA Cup win at QPR threatened to keep him out for a month. However, he only missed three games before coming back and playing consistently well upon his return. His goalscoring tended to come in spurts, with two four-in-six purple patches, including the second in our crucial 3-0 win over Valencia in early December. Ramires was rewarded for his increasingly impressive performances with a new five-year contract in March 2012, signed days after he played his 50th league game for the Blues. Under Roberto Di Matteo, he tended to feature as the right winger in a front three, providing more energy and defensive support down that flank, and he made a massive impact as the season drew to a close, developing a reputation as a big-game player. Ramires scored the crucial third goal at Wembley as we beat Tottenham 5-1 in the FA Cup semi-final, before netting a sublime chip in the Camp Nou during our 2-2 draw in the Champions League semi-final, a game which also saw him pick up a booking which ruled him out of the Final. It was Wembley joy for the likeable Brazilian once again when he opened the scoring in the FA Cup Final, racing on to a Juan Mata pass before driving past Pepe Reina, and while he played no part in our Champions League Final success, he had undoubtedly done as much as anybody to bask in the victory. Illness ruled Ramires out of our opening game of the 2012/13 campaign at Wigan, but he returned to the starting line-up three days later for the 4-2 win against Reading. After ending the 2011/12 campaign playing wide on the right, the following season saw Ramires deployed more often than not in a more familiar defensive midfield role alongside John Mikel Obi. It's a role he carried out with aplomb, particularly in the wins against both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, although he is still liable to chip in with crucial strikes from deep, as testified with successive goals against Manchester United, both in the Premier League and Capital One Cup. During the second half of the season, Ramires was one of the few players Rafael Benitez opted not to rotate too often, a sign of his importance to the side. The Brazilian picked up an injury in the home game against Swansea towards the end of the campaign, but he was back in action quicker than expected. Our penultimate league game of the 2012/13 season, however, saw Ramires sent off at Aston Villa for two bookable offences. Fortunately, though, that dismissal didn't affect his ability to participate in the Europa League final, and having missed the Champions League final through suspension a year earlier, he played the full 90 minutes as the Blues lifted the trophy. It was his persistence and hard running in the final minute that won the corner from which Branislav Ivanovic headed the winner

3 PLAYER BIO: Luis Alberto Surez Daz came to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2014 as holder of the Golden Boot and one of the biggest stars in world football. The striker was born in Salto (Uruguay) on January 24 1987, and has signed for five seasons. He started out at Club Nacional de Football in Montevideo, where he played until 2006, before moving to Holland to join Groningen at the tender age of 19. A season later he switched to Ajax Amsterdam, where he was soon one of the biggest stars. He was top scorer in the 2009/10 Eredivisie and led Ajax into the Champions League, in late 2010 playing five games in what has so far been his only experience of Europes premier club competition. Shortly after, in 2011, he was headed for Liverpool. His goals soon won him a starting place on Merseyside, where he continued his record of always scoring at least ten goals a season in his professional career, be that in Uruguay, the Netherlands or the UK. At Anfield, his stats have improved along with his teams performances, which almost resulted in Liverpool winning the championship for the first time in 24 years. In a wonderful last season, he scored 31 goals in 33 games to share the Golden Boot award with Cristiano Ronaldo. Luis Surez is also the main man in his national team. He led Uruguay to the Copa America 2011 title, where he was also named Player of the Tournament. Along with Diego Forln and Edinson Cavani, he also played a key role in getting Uruguay into the 2010 World Cup semi-finals.

  • Soccerstarz - Man Utd Juan Mata - Home Kit

3 Juan Mata exudes class, intelligence and panache - and not just with a ball at his feet. When the Spaniard travelled to the Aon Training Complex on 25 January 2014 to complete his transfer from Chelsea, he arrived by helicopter - a Hollywood-style entrance befitting a player on whom Manchester United spent a club-record fee of 37.1million. Mata is an influential performer in any of the three main attacking positions across the pitch behind the lead striker on either flank or in the no.10 role. A world-class creator and consistent goal-getter, he netted 12 times in all competitions in his debut season with Chelsea in 2011/12, before scoring 11 in the league alone in the following campaign. However, Mata's game is about more than just attacking from deep to score goals. The Spain international has a sweet left foot, wonderful poise and balance, possesses great vision for a killer pass or wicked cross and is a danger from set-pieces anywhere on the pitch. His creativity sets him apart; only two players in Premier League history boast superior minutes-per-assist ratios, and since Mata arrived in England only Wayne Rooney and David Silva have set up more goals.

  • Soccerstarz - Man Utd Michael Carrick - Home Kit

3 Michael Carrick has established himself as one of the most effective midfielders in the Barclays Premier League since his arrival at Old Trafford from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006. Understated, and often under-rated, Carrick has become a lynchpin of the United engine room, enjoying arguably his best season to date in 2011/12. In his debut campaign of 2006/07, he carved out a formidable partnership with Paul Scholes and began to mature into one of English football's most sophisticated and classy passing midfielders. Thereafter, he confounded those who had said he would slip down the pecking order following Owen Hargreaves' arrival in 2007. The first of Carrick's title triumphs with United was also the maiden honour of his professional career, although he did win the FA Youth Cup with West Ham in 1999. Carrick started his career at West Ham and in 2004 moved across London to Tottenham where he blossomed into an accomplished midfielder in two seasons at White Hart Lane but the lure of United was impossible to resist as he was encouraged to head north by Sir Alex Ferguson's determination to bring him to Old Trafford. A calming influence and the master of the interception, Carrick weighs in with the occasional goal. His first was a well-taken half-volley against Aston Villa in early 2007 before a strike against Reading in the FA Cup was shortlisted for the club's Goal of the Season award. A rare brace was secured in the memorable 7-1 rout of Roma in the Champions League. Carrick's assured calmness under pressure and pin-point passing ability is, at times, faultless. Despite a clamour to add some quality to England's midfield at Euro 2012, he had expressed a desire to retire from international football during Fabio Capello's reign - after earning 22 caps - he was able to recharge his batteries in the summer before heading off on the DHL tour in July. It is a remarkable fact that, since joining the United in 2006, he has only lost out in a league title race by one point (to Chelsea in 2009/2010) and goal difference (to Manchester City in 2011/2012).

  • Soccerstarz - Liverpool Glen Johnson - Home Kit

3 England international Glen Johnson is an attacking right-back who arrived at Anfield in June 2009. Johnson established himself as one of the Premier League's top full-backs in the years prior to his big money move to Merseyside and he is an integral part of the national team under Fabio Capello. His career began with Harry Redknapp at West Ham but after just 15 appearances and a loan spell at Millwall he became the first signing for new Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in 2003. The Londoner's league debut for the Blues arrived at Anfield in August of the same year. Three months later came an international bow against Denmark as a substitute for Gary Neville. Johnson won the Premier League and League Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge but was loaned by Jose Mourinho to Portsmouth in 2006. The deal was made permanent a year later and the England man went on to be a massive hit with the Fratton Park faithful. He helped the club to FA Cup glory in 2008 - and the season that followed brought a host of personal accolades. Despite Portsmouth finishing 14th in the league, Johnson was selected at right-back in the PFA Team of the Year for 2008-09. His screaming left-foot volley against Hull on November 22 also won Match of the Day's Goal of the Season. A summer move to Merseyside followed, with his debut arriving at White Hart Lane on August 16, 2009. Three days later came Johnson's first goal, an acrobatic volley in a 4-0 thrashing of Stoke. The defender would score twice more during 2009-10, a campaign which ended with a trip to the World Cup in South Africa. He started every game as England crashed out in the last 16 to Germany. Injuries punctuated 2010-11 but Johnson's form following the return of Kenny Dalglish proved to any remaining doubters that both the attacking and defensive sides of his game were top drawer. His willingness to operate at left-back was also crucial as the King masterminded an Anfield revival after a turbulent spell under Roy Hodgson. Away from the pitch, our No.2 established the 'Glen Johnson Soccer School' in Dartford back in 2007 for children aged between four and 16.

  • Soccerstarz - Man Utd Antonio Valencia - Home Kit

3 Armed with pace, power and dizzying chicanery, Antonio Valencia is one of the leading exponents of wingplay. The Ecuadorian is the latest player to wear United's iconic number seven shirt, having established himself as one of Sir Alex Ferguson's most potent attacking weapons since his arrival at Old Trafford in the summer of 2009. His transfer to United curtailed a three-year stint at Wigan Athletic, where he had piqued manager Paul Jewell's interest with a series of impressive performances in central midfield in Ecuador's campaign at the 2006 World Cup. Though his performances earned him a nomination for FIFA's Best Young Player award, Valencia was only a bit-part player at Villarreal and had gone into the tournament after a successful loan spell with Recreativo Huelva in Spain's second tier. It required another loan deal to take him to Wigan, but Antonio impressed sufficiently as the Latics excelled in their first Premier League campaign and he made a permanent move to the JJB Stadium as Steve Bruce took over from Jewell. In his three seasons at Wigan, Valencia made 83 appearances, scoring seven times and catching the eye of several bigger clubs. Antonio turned down the chance to join Real Madrid, but couldn't resist the opportunity to move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2009. Hopes that a superb maiden season could be replicated were dashed when he suffered an horrific ankle injury in United's Champions League draw with Rangers in September 2010. However, Valencia made a breathtaking return to fitness and form within six months. He played a key role as the Reds regained the Premier League title - making him a league champion for the first time - and he ended a topsy-turvy campaign with fittingly mixed emotions, starting his first Champions League final but tasting defeat against Barcelona.

  • Soccerstarz - Chelsea Petr Cech - Home Kit

3 Petr Cech arrived in 2004 for a fee of more than all the past goalkeepers in Chelsea history combined, with the task of challenging established number one Carlo Cudicini. He immediately caught the eye with his height, incredible reaction speed and confidence in leaving his goal-line and began his Chelsea career as Jose Mourinho's first choice. He had to be good to keep Cudicini out. A clean-sheet laden first season at Stamford Bridge was statistically the most accomplished by any Chelsea keeper - a run of 1,024 minutes without conceding a goal between December and March set a new English top flight record. By the end of that season he had his first championship medal plus records for the fewest goals conceded and most clean sheets in an English top-flight season, recognised with the award of the Barclays Golden Gloves for 2004/05. Though the 2005/06 version of the Chelsea defence was never quite as watertight as the season before, Petr continued to excel and was a major force in capturing a consecutive Premiership title. Serious injury in October 2006 cast big doubts over the future of his career, but Petr overcame a fractured skull that had required immediate surgery, 30 stitches and much rest to return just three months later. Within weeks he had recorded a seven-game run for club and country without conceding a goal, all while sporting the skull protection that has become a trade mark, and he ended the season with both domestic cups. Injuries took their toll again during 2007/08, and change of management brought a change of goalkeeping coach - Christophe Lollichon, his coach at former club Rennes, joined the Blues - as Silvino Louro left with Mourinho. Despite calf, hip and facial afflictions, 6ft 4in Petr was there as we reached the Champions League Final in Moscow, making a string of vital saves before we were eventually beaten on penalties by Manchester United - his save from Cristiano Ronaldo in the shootout proving academic. After a typically consistent opening to the 2008/09 campaign, Petr's form, and those in front of him, took a dip around Christmas and new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari experimented with a set-piece zonal marking system which contributed to points being lost against Fulham and Manchester United, while we were nearly embarrassed in the FA Cup by Southend and then Ipswich. Scolari's exit brought about an improvement in form under Guus Hiddink, the highlight of Petr's season coming in the Camp Nou as Barcelona were kept at bay, important saves made against Samuel Eto'o and Alex Hleb. For the first season in three there were no major injury problems, with 35 Premier League appearances and an ever-present record in the Champions League. In 2009/10 Petr further enhanced his own reputation with a solid season and a major contribution towards a first Premier League and FA Cup Double. Individual errors were reduced, though a couple of mishaps occurred at Stoke and Aston Villa, but Petr bounced back to concede just two more in the next eight games as we entered the Christmas period on top of the league. While a calf injury at the San Siro prevented him from participating in our Champions League second-leg defeat against Inter, causing him to miss five games, he returned for the run-in and had a big say in the direction the silverware went, earning the Premier League's Golden Glove on the final day of the season with his 17th clean sheet from 34 games. Petr kept perhaps his best for last. In the FA Cup Final he first pulled off an amazing instinctive save to prevent Frederic Piquionne from opening the scoring, and then kept out Kevin-Prince Boateng's spot-kick with his feet, moments before Didier Drogba went up the other end and scored a superb free-kick. Cech's next campaign began with a calf strain in pre-season, but he returned in time for the first league game and he would be an ever-present, surpassing the 300-appearance mark. He has since become Chelsea's highest appearing foreign player, going past Gianfranco Zola's 312. At the end of the season he was voted Chelsea's Player of the Year for the first time. A knee injury hampered the early stages of 2011/12 causing him to miss two games, but he was soon back between the sticks, though facing criticism with goals flying past him. He was beaten five times by Arsenal in late October, the first time we had conceded as many since 2002, but if anyone has the strength of character to deal with such issues it is Cech, and he kept a clean sheet at Blackburn on Bonfire Night despite sustaining a broken nose in the early stages of the game, after a collision with his own defender Ashley Cole. Since then he was an ever-present in both league and cup, surviving the upheaval of Andre Villas-Boas's exit, and pulling off a string of crucial saves in big games, notably in the memorable extra-time victory over Napoli at the Bridge that secured a Champions League last-eight place. The Czech international was also integral as we hunted a finish in the top four that would guarantee automatic Champions League qualification, keeping Tottenham at bay with some superb stops and making his 50th appearance of the season for club and country in the 4-2 win at Aston Villa at the end of March. As the Blues chased cup glory on two fronts, Cech was outstanding, making a stunning save from Andy Carroll in the FA Cup Final, as well as a number of crucial stops in the Champions League semi-final legs against Barcelona. However, he saved his finest hour for when it mattered most, in the Champions League Final. Firstly, he saved an Arjen Robben penalty in extra-time with the score level at 1-1, while in the shoot-out he made successive stops from both Olic and Schweinsteiger to give us the advantage from which Didier Drogba was able to capitalise on. A disappointing sixth-placed league finish was instantly rendered academic. Cech was rewarded for his performances with the offer of a new four-year contract which he signed a week after our glorious triumph in Munich. He made his 400th appearance for the club in the 2-1 win at Everton in December 2012, although his involvement was brought to a premature halt when he was forced off at half-time after picking up an injury. Cech was subsequently sidelined for three matches before making his return in the 4-0 win away at Stoke City. However, after picking up another injury, this time in training, Cech missed successive cup games against Swansea City and Brentford. He made his return in the 3-2 defeat at Newcastle United and played every game from then until the end of a hectic campaign, in which his appearances totalled a career-high 63 by the season's end. He started all nine of our games in the triumphant run to Europa League glory and also made a telling contribution in the league, where we finished third. Cech began the 2013/14 season as he had the previous nine: as first-choice goalkeeper. He made his 300th Premier League appearance for the club in the 4-1 win over Cardiff in October, becoming only the third player in Chelsea blue to achieve such a feat.

  • Soccerstarz - Chelsea John Terry - Home Kit

3 Chelsea to the core and a true hero to the fans, John is the most successful captain in Chelsea history and in many eyes, he's the best central defender currently in action. As brave as they come and a superb reader of the game, sound technique and distribution make him more than just a defenders' defender. Born in east London, John has been with Chelsea since the age of 14 when he was initially a medium-build midfielder. Filling in as youth team centre-back one day due to a lack of alternatives, he has never looked back, aided by a rapid growth in physical stature. A short and successful loan spell at Nottingham Forest helped the maturing process and having taken on board lessons first hand from the likes of Marcel Desailly and Frank Leboeuf, he was voted Chelsea Player of the Year just two seasons after his debut. He took the captaincy, having understudied Desailly, in 2004 and led the club to the elusive title in his very first year with the armband. With the Carling Cup also lifted, John became one of only four Chelsea captains to skipper the club to major honours and he more than played his part on the pitch in 2004/05 with a succession of world-class displays and eight crucial goals. He was voted PFA Player of the Year by his fellow professionals, the first Chelsea winner of the accolade. John's incredible consistency continued in 2005/06 when injury in the final week robbed him of a full house of Premiership games as he lifted the trophy for a second time. He scored seven times in all competitions and was voted Chelsea Player of the Year for a second time. Although he already had well over 300 club appearances to his name, the 2006/07 season was interrupted by prolonged injury as a back problem and related difficulties took time to repair. However he was back and fighting in plenty of time to become the first to lift the FA Cup at the new Wembley. Injuries limited him to 37 appearances from a possible 62 in 2007/08. Knee, cheek, foot and elbow injuries all took their toll on the man then manager Avram Grant described as 'bionic', but he was still there barking orders in Moscow in our first Champions League final. Charged with converting our fifth spot kick in the Luzhniki Stadium to bring the trophy back to London, he slipped on a sodden pitch and saw his effort hit the post. Held in the highest regard by all at the club, JT bounced back quickly in 2008/09 to lead in new eras under Luiz Felipe Scolari and then Guus Hiddink, his form rarely deviating from outstanding. A number of defensive performances stood out as the captain maintained his best run of games for some time, despite red cards against Manchester City (rescinded) and Everton. His greatest hour of the campaign was the near faultless display in the Camp Nou, earning a 0-0 draw against a Barcelona team that had scored freely all season. Though we were never in the league race after the beginning of February, John still got his hands on silverware as he captained an FA Cup-winning side for the second time. In 2009/10 JT turned in another season of remarkable consistency in which he was rewarded by becoming the first Chelsea captain to lift the Double. On the field, Terry did not miss a game through injury, and while others around him suffered with fitness - every other Chelsea defender had a prolonged absence at some point in the season - it was he who played out the entire campaign alongside either Ricardo Carvalho, Branislav Ivanovic or Alex. Against Manchester United at home, the captain rose highest to head the game's only goal and when headlines about his personal life began to appear, his response was predictable, heading home a winner at Burnley to seize three points. He was again on the scoresheet to see us into the FA Cup semi-finals. Having lifted his third Premier League trophy a week early, he did the same with the FA Cup after overcoming a metatarsal scare, and almost netted after heading against the crossbar. His second season under Carlo Ancelotti saw Terry maintain his form when many around him lost theirs during a bad midwinter. Results especially suffered when the skipper was injured for a two-week spell in the November. Although 2010/11 was a rare one without trophies for John, in the April at home to Spurs he reached a major personal landmark of 500 Chelsea games - only the fifth player to reach that total. Terry's displays were characteristically solid despite a string of injuries in 2011/12, the most serious of which was a knee injury sustained in early January that kept him out for eight games, having played for most of the month while in pain. It was a remarkably speedy return after surgery in February though, that saw him back for the dramatic second-leg win over Napoli, in which he netted a crucial second. It was his most prolific season in front of goal since the title-winning 2005-06 season and, whether alongside David Luiz, Gary Cahill or Ivanovic, the captain continued to stand out. Terry suffered a major blow when he was ruled out of the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich after being dismissed in the semi-final second leg clash with Barcelona. However, he was allowed to lift the trophy alongside Frank Lampard and, after picking up the FA Cup only a matter of weeks earlier, it will go down as another memorable season for the skipper. In October 2012, Terry was handed a four-match domestic suspension for an incident during a game against Queens Park Rangers almost exactly a year earlier. He was forced to sit out the league games against Tottenham, Manchester United and Swansea, as well as a Capital One Cup clash against United. His first game back was the home match against Liverpool, and Terry was in involved in the thick of the action, almost from the kick-off. After 20 minutes he rose highest to meet a Juan Mata corner and head us into the lead, but shortly before the break he suffered a nasty injury to his knee following an accidental collision with Luis Suarez. The injury kept Terry sidelined for two months, but after playing 45 minutes for our Under-21s in a 2-0 win against Fulham at Cobham, he made his first-team return as a late substitute in the 4-0 win at Stoke on 12 January. Terry then played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Brentford a few weeks later, before another minor setback kept him sidelined once again. However, he returned to the side for the replay against Brentford and scored the final goal in a 4-0 win. His goalscoring touch certainly hadn't eluded him, with goals in the games against Southampton and Steaua Bucharest shortly after, as well as a brace in the 3-0 win at Fulham in April. Sadly for Terry, what had been a mixed campaign came to a premature end when he sustained an ankle injury in the away win at Aston Villa, ruling him out of the Europa League final. However, after the Blues had beaten Benfica to win the competition, Terry joined Frank Lampard to hold the trophy aloft in Amsterdam
