Antique Arts & Crafts Copper & Brass Andirons Pair c. 1900

A beautiful, completely intact pair of genuine antique Arts & Crafts period fireplace fire dogs (andirons), dating from circa 1900.

These feature a highly collectible mixed-metal construction with solid copper bodies/legs and contrasting brass front plates. The brass plates are beautifully cast with a stylized sunburst/whirlpool organic design, characteristic of the Cotswold School and designers like Ernest Gimson.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with a wonderful natural patina.

Completeness: Perfectly symmetrical pair. Both original brass front plates are fully intact and securely attached (often these are missing or mismatched, but this pair is 100% complete).

Dimensions: Stands approximately 11 inches tall. The horizontal iron billet rail sits at approx. 6.25 inches high.

Style: Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau / Liberty style. Perfect for a period restoration or adding historic character to a cottage or modern hearth.

Unmarked, hence the realistic asking price.

Perfect addition to a period home, restoration project, or a working traditional fireplace.
