Large Silver Early 19th Century Gua with A Tsatsa of Green Tara

Here is just a wonderful early example of a large Gau..These came in three sizes and this is the largest size that was made..height being 39 cms,width 34 cms and depth 14.5 cms.

This is a late eighteenth,early nineteenth century Tibetan Buddha mobile shrine..that has a repousse silver front,that has been brazed on to a hand beaten heavy copper frame.It has a viewing window that a porcelain Tsatsa of Green Tara can be seen.This is housed in a hand embroidered quilted silk brocade.The figures on the front represent "The Om"..an itinerant monk one rubbed his fingers over them reciting " om ma ni padh met him"..The universal Tibetan Buddhist prayer for the well being of all sentiment beings.The shrine is full of individual prayers,there are more than 100 present,to the best of my knowledge.This is a wonderful early example that is both complete and in very nice condition.I will include very safe packing and registered post in the asking price.Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
