Victor Rousseau, bronze figure
Description
An antique bronze figure by Victor Rousseau, dating from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Decorative sculptures of this type often reflect the French or Belgian style of the *fin de siècle* (Belle Époque / Art Nouveau) era.
Works by artists such as Victor Rousseau—for example, his well-known piece "Femme à la Torche" ("Woman with a Torch"), which symbolizes the light of knowledge—are representative of this style.
