2004 Ireland EU Accession/ European Union Enlargement Stamp Sheetlet Plate 1B1B1B1B Fine CDS Used with Dublin cancel of 1st May 2004 (First day of issue) on envelope extract.

Note this cause a bit of a controversy at the time. An Post denied that it made a mapping blunder by slicing a new European Union member state from its commemorative stamp run. The stamp designers appear to have given the Mediterranean sunshine isle of Crete the cold shoulder and put its neighbour Cyprus in its hot spot. The stamp also been criticised for not marking the border between the Republic and the North.
