Very Rare Maple Burl (or could be Olive wood) Table with Live Edges.

Description

The Maple Burl Table is difficult to measure, and also identify, I’m not even sure, cos it could be Olive Wood either. So it's Longest Point is 170cm, it's Widest point is 100cm, (the easy one) Height from ground 42cm. As you can appreciate, it's very heavy, so buyer would need help, a suggestion of 2 men carrying it. Also a Van or a Trailer to collect it. and a few old blankets for Transport.

Don’t think that’s bog oak. Burr oak maybe

That’s a lovely fictional story 🫣

@Jjordie: Thanks for that Jordie. Wasn’t 100% sure as it was my Brother’s and he’s passed away recently.

You misunderstand me. It looks like a nice piece of (possibly) burr oak. Photo not clear enough to be more specific on Wood species. However, it doesn’t look like any type of bog wood i’ve ever seen.

Bog oak is generally the color of ebony, a jet black, sometimes goes into a greenish tinge in the sap wood. I wouldn’t have thought it was oak at all tbh.
