Nikon 10x70 6.5 degree binocular

These are outstanding (and uncommon) binoculars for astronomy or long-range terrestrial observing.

Very easy to hold by hand since they're stocky and have a good bit of heft to them. They actually provide the most stable handheld view of any 10x binoculars I've ever used. And 6.5° with 70mm lenses is truly something to behold under dark skies.

One of the lenses has light haze behind it, which is typical with these due to the humid conditions in Japan. If people stored them in a dark, humid area, haze resulted. The good news is that it's inert since exposure to sunlight kills it off. They can be sent for cleaning to the UK or to Japan (and probably somewhere in the EU), but I don't see any discernible impact on the view. Nor did my friend, from whom I bought them, and we are both experienced observers with keen eyes.
