ERA MK6 Turntable
With SME 3009 Series II Improved Tonearm
Ortofon VMS 5E MkII Cartridge – Plug & Play
A rare opportunity to own a beautifully preserved piece of 1970s European hi-fi history.
For sale is an ERA MK6 belt-drive turntable, fitted with the superb SME 3009 Series II Improved (fixed headshell) tonearm and an Ortofon VMS 5E MkII cartridge with stylus installed and ready to enjoy.
This is a fully working, complete, plug-and-play setup.
ERA turntables are often compared to early Thorens and Linn designs — suspended sub-chassis, precision synchronous motor, minimalist engineering — built purely for musical performance. When paired with an SME arm, they become something truly special.
The SME 3009 needs no introduction: one of the most respected tonearms ever made. Smooth, precise, beautifully engineered — and perfectly matched to the Ortofon VMS series.
The Ortofon VMS 5E MkII delivers a wonderfully open, airy sound with excellent detail and warmth — exactly what this deck was designed to do.

This is not a “project.”
This is a ready-to-enjoy analogue system.
The sound is beautifully balanced — airy highs, natural midrange and tight, musical bass. A deck that lets vinyl breathe.
These combinations do not come up for sale often, especially complete and working.
Ideal for: • Vintage hi-fi enthusiasts
• Valve amplifier systems
• Vinyl collectors
• Anyone wanting to step into serious analogue sound
This is not modern plastic hi-fi — this is precision European engineering from a time when things were built to last.
Serious enquiries welcome.
Audition possible.
