1950s Vintage art deco Elgin tank watch

Up for sale is a vintage mid-century Elgin De Luxe rectangular Tank-style wristwatch featuring a rich aged patina dial and unique historical provenance.

The watch features a mechanical hand-wound movement with a small seconds subdial at six o'clock. It is housed in a gold-tone rectangular case with distinctive hooded lugs and comes fitted on a period-style gold-tone expansion bracelet.

The original champagne dial displays applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, dot markers, and classic baton hands. Adding to its character, the case back features a crisp personalised presentation engraving reading Rev. James J. Kelly May 19, 1951.
