Description

This is an A. W Co Waltham Pocket Watch, with a 14Sz, Model 1884, Hillside Grade, 15 Jewel, ¾ plate Movement.

The sn is 2991 068, with screwed-in jewelling and it is KW/KS on the back. The Production date is 1886/1887 and it is working very well.
It is signed Exam’d by T.W. Cooke, Dungarvan

The Dial is 40 mm in Diameter and is signed A. W Co Waltham. It has a sub-secs dial at 6.00 and has no apparent hairlines, as can be seen in the pics.

The Silver Case bears the makers mark A.B. (Arthur Bamford), who was the Waltham Manager in the UK. It bears the very low sn95, is 48mm in diameter and has a Birmingham Hallmark for 1889c. - Ref : DW -50

T.W.Cooke is listed in Dungarvan, Lismore 1886 to 1909 and Dublin in 1920 - further details are provided on page 149 in “Irish Clock and Watchmakers”, published by David Boles in 2025.
