A Little History – Mark McLaughlin and Mark's BarMark McLaughlin was a respected supporter and promoter of Irish traditional music.
His pub, Mark's Bar on Crowe Street in Dundalk, became an important meeting place for traditional musicians during the 1960s and 1970s.
The venue attracted musicians from across Ireland and beyond, including members of The Dubliners, Tommy Makem, the Fureys and Julie Felix.
Mark's Bar became particularly well known for its lively traditional music sessions, several of which were captured on vinyl recordings.
