When The Rooftop Singers Turned It Into A Feisty Singalong, Cannon And Woods Got Huge Windfalls. Cannon, Who Once Hocked His Banjo For $20 Worth Of Coal, Not Only Got Royalties For The Hit, He Also Got A Recording Contract With Stax Records.
