Hi, what do the sails look like? Any photos? Are they blown out or derivable in your opinion?

johnspica 2 months ago

Headsail very good, new weather strip last year, the mainsail is working fine but it is old. It also has a boomer; this is a variation on a cruising chute, a large nylon sail for light wind sailing and it has two original sails which have not been used, they predate the roller furling headsail and are number 3 and number 1 headsails.

Hi has the engine been serviced?

johnspica 1 month ago

@coffeebeans03: Serviced and fully overhauled in the past 12 months. Since i bought it in addition to servicing it every winter I also made a point of stripping and servicing working engine components to avoid sudden breakdowns. Over the years i replaced the starter motor (had it removed and service), I replaced the original dynamo with a modern high output alternator. I serviced heat exchange system and this year replaced all of the hoses and the internal 48 year old water pump with a new one.. I've kept the old one as a spare as it's working perfectly. Engine stripped cleaned and head gasket and associted gaskets replaced last winter, fule system hoses replaced and new fuel pump fitted, have a second spare also. Engine cleaned and painted every other year. Starts on the button and a simple solid donkey to maintain.
