The problem is, I don't know if it works or not. It requires special batteries that aren't easy to find. Or need to use an adapter.

@Mack72 It takes a 1.35V PX625 mercury battery (also known as PX13 or MR9).
Since mercury batteries are now banned, you can use these modern substitutes:
• Wein Cell MRB625 (1.35V zinc-air) — best replacement for accuracy.
• Varta V625U or Energizer 625A (1.5V alkaline) — works, but may slightly affect readings.
• Or use a 1.5V silver oxide 357/303 with adapter (voltage adjusted via adapter).

Best choice: Wein MRB625.
