Antique Bamboo Ceramic Spittoon

Beautiful antique ceramic spittoon featuring a molded bamboo relief pattern, a classic drip glaze finish, and hand-painted green leaf accents.
An identical specimen of this exact design is held in the permanent history collection at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa (Registration Number CG001450). This makes it a fantastic, museum-grade piece of social and utilitarian history.

Beautiful vintage character with typical age-related glaze crazing. There is an authentic minor hairline crack/chip near the side cutout arch (visible in photos), which is common for utilitarian pottery of this age and adds to its rustic charm. The base is completely unmarked.
• Perfect as a unique historical display piece, a conversation starter for an antique collection, or repurposed as a rustic planter/vase.
