Wonderful Pair of Studio Art Pottery Goblets by Martin Branch Lyre Pottery, Cloncorban, Rossmore, Clonakilty, West Cork in a Fabulous Colourful Variegated Glaze. Pair One

***Pair One***
I am continuing my effort to downsize, in advance of all our possessions having to go back into storage again in the next few months (the builders keep changing the dates!)

I’ve quite a few eclectic pieces which will be going as they are not really part of my main collections but were just items that I was attracted to. They still bring me joy but something needs to go!!!

For sale here, is a Wonderful Pair of Studio Art Pottery Goblets by Martin Branch Lyre Pottery, Cloncorban, Rossmore, Clonakilty, West Cork in a Fabulous Colourful Variegated Glaze. Pair One

These are stunning pieces of Studio Art Pottery, hand-potted with a fabulous coloured glaze ranging from purples, lilacs, blues and turquoises. The foot and lower stem of the Goblets are finished in a matt glaze (almost cast bronze-like) with Sgraffito decoration featuring abstract repeat patterns and Greek key designs.
The upper stem and the bowls of the goblets are in a dramatic high shine glaze in the variety of colours mentioned above.

Due to the fact that these goblets are hand-thrown and hand-glazed, there are variations in height, size and colourations between the two goblets.

They are in pristine condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or any other damage, and have only been on display in my house.

They stand between 5.25 inches/ 13.5 cm and 5.5 inches/14 cm tall and the diameter of the bowls are roughly 3 inches/7.5 cm.
The base has the impressed mark for Martin Branch Lyre Pottery – MB and the word EIRE. A sticker is also present on both goblets as photographed.

These would be a wonderful addition to an Irish Studio Art Pottery Collection.
This potter deserves to be better known as his work is stunning. A pity he has since retired.

I have six goblets in total, which I am selling in two pairs and two singles, mainly due to the height difference. See the last few photos which shows all six.
