A Stunning 1936 British Penny coin, scarce in this Condition with traces of lustre.
When King George V died in 1936, he was succeeded by his eldest son Edward, "Edward VIII". His affair with the divorced American Wallis Simpson, who he planned to marry was very unpopular and Edward abdicated just eleven months into his reign. His younger brother Albert was crowned King of England instead as King George VI. This resulted in three kings occupying the British throne within a period of twelve months.

Comes supplied in a coin holder.
