This is a 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar coin in a pendant mount.
The coin features the profile of John F. Kennedy on the obverse (front).
The 1964 edition was the first mintage of its kind after his assassination in 1963.
It is the only year the coin was struck for general circulation in 90% pure silver, making it a popular collectible.
Subsequent half dollars produced from 1965 to 1970 contained 40% silver.
