A superb cast steel carvers gouge in very good condition. The 1" blade is full length, outcannelled, sweep no 6, sharpened and ready for use. The premium boxwod handle is in good shape. Stamped "Clegg, Uxbridge Rd." This was a tool shop in London, the gouge was made for them by Wm Marples in Sheffield.
FREE ebook " Woodcarving for Beginners" with this gouge.

Sheffield Cast Steel ( Crucible steel) was very expensive to make but its unique crystalline structure means it takes and retains a superior cutting edge and is highly prized by discerning woodworkers
