Pioneer CT-447 Stereo Cassette Deck/Fully Serviced/Very good Condition
A beautiful example of the Pioneer CT-447, a higher-specification model from Pioneer’s cassette deck range, sitting above models such as the CT-339.
This is a particularly nice example, both visually and mechanically. The deck has a very attractive early-1990s Pioneer design, with a large fluorescent display, gold detailing, substantial recording-level control and a very solid-looking 2-motor transport system.
It has been fully serviced, thoroughly tested and is ready to use.
Full mechanical service:
- New drive belt
- New idler
- New pinch roller
- Idler motor cleaned and lubricated
- Capstan motor cleaned and lubricated
- Transport mechanism thoroughly cleaned and lubricated
- Tape path and heads cleaned
- Controls and switches checked
- Full playback and recording testing
The transport now operates smoothly and reliably, with all functions working correctly.
Pioneer Auto BLE
One of the major attractions of the CT-447 is Pioneer’s Auto BLE system – Automatic Bias, Level and Equalization.
At the touch of a button, the deck automatically optimizes the recording parameters for the cassette being used, making high-quality recordings much easier to achieve.
The deck also features Dolby HX Pro, which helps extend high-frequency recording performance.
Key features:
- 2-motor transport system
- Auto BLE – Automatic Bias, Level & Equalization
- Dolby HX Pro
- Dolby B/C noise reduction
- Auto tape selection
- Normal / CrO₂ / Metal tape compatibility
- CD Deck Synchro
- Music Search
- Blank Search
- Repeat function
- Timer recording / playback
- Meter Range – Wide / Expand
- Headphone output with level control
- Line and microphone inputs
- Electronic soft-touch transport controls
Cosmetic condition:
The deck is in very good cosmetic condition for its age.
The front panel is clean and exceptionally well preserved, with the original Pioneer lettering, controls and display all looking very sharp. The large fluorescent display is bright and fully operational.
The overall appearance is particularly impressive when powered on — the display and illuminated indicators give this Pioneer a fantastic vintage look.
A higher-specification Pioneer
The CT-447 is a particularly interesting model for anyone looking for something beyond the more basic Pioneer cassette decks of the period.
With its 2-motor transport, Auto BLE, HX Pro, Dolby B/C, Auto Tape Selector and excellent build quality, it offers a very nice combination of features, performance and classic Pioneer styling.
Fully serviced, tested and ready to enjoy.
