Description

Hours/Days per week: 5 days – 35 hours per week
Duration: Initial approval until 30th September 2026 to cover a staff member who is on a period of leave
Hourly Rate: €25.94 per hour / 35 hours per week

Requirements for Post

Qualifications

National Craft Cert or Senior Trades

Other Requirements (Desirable)

Has mentored an apprentice in phases 1,3,5,7 or been an apprenticeship employer
Relevant industry experience in metal fabrication
Instructional/training qualification
Strong communication and learner support skills
Knowledge of the apprenticeship system and programme requirements

Job Spec/Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
Deliver the SOLAS Phase 2 Metal Fabrication curriculum (practical and theory)
Demonstrate core skills such as welding, cutting, fabrication, measuring and safety procedures as per the Curriculum
Supervise hands on workshop activities

Assessment & Evaluation
Assess apprentices’ practical skills & theoretical knowledge
Provide feedback & support to help learners reach required standards
Maintain records of progress and results as required by STB & QA

Health & Safety
Enforce strict workshop safety procedures
Conduct safety briefings and monitor safe use of tools/equipment

Administration & Coordination
Maintain training documentation and attendance records
Liaise with employers, staff and apprenticeship advisors
