A superb and highly collectible authentic Franz Xaver Bergmann Vienna Bronze dating from around 1900, depicting a seated boy smoking a pipe. Beautifully cold-painted in the original colours with excellent detail and expression.

The underside bears the sought-after Bergmann “B in Urn” foundry mark, together with model number 2618 and GESCHÜTZT (Protected), confirming its Austrian origin and production by one of the world’s most famous Vienna bronze foundries.

Franz Xaver Bergmann (1861–1936) is regarded as the finest producer of Vienna cold-painted bronzes. His works are celebrated for their remarkable craftsmanship, lifelike modelling and vibrant hand-applied cold-painted finishes. Today they are highly sought after by collectors worldwide and regularly feature in leading international auctions.

Condition
