Description

1960 Ampex 351 transport.
This transport has recently had the black tar capacitors removed for safety as they contain extremely harmfulcontents. Included are brand new replacement capacitors still in the boxes and mounting clips. The capacitors have not been mounted yet. The transport was last used in 2020. I bought this in Clinton, TN after it was removed from the original Greystone Building at Channel 6 news along with the Lang playback electronic.

2X 1957 Ampex 350 Multi-track Master Electronics with Power Supplies
These are unrestored, untouched electronics in the extremely rare original multitrack variation. When Ampex go beyond 2 track machines, such as Les Pauls Octopuss 8-track Ampex, a third transformer is added to the electronics to switch the impedance of the record/playback heads in order to hook up a "Sel-Sync" which allows you to record Sound on Sound like Les Paul. 1957 was the first year of Multitrack machines being available. These are 2 "Master" electronics meaning that all of the other "Slave" electronics would power from these, whether it is a 3-track, 4-track or 8-track. Master electronics can be powered easily unlike slaves, and can also set bias. These can be converted to a Mono machine easily by disconnecting the transformer and adding a capacitor. These Multitrack electronics have a great feature, not present on the standard models, where the inputs are split into two connectors on the selectable line source for easy switching
Two full sets of RCA Valves and boxes. One original power lead included.
