Art nouveau glass vase on Chester Sterling base
Description
Here is a beautiful Art Nouveau glass vase,that sits on a fully hallmarked Chester silver base.The sterling silver base is hallmarked for 1918(last year of the Great war,last year of Art Nouveau)..It was made by Joseph and Richard Griffin (1896-1926)..The glass has a ruffled Chantilly design,with magnificent articulation in the hand engraved designs.These appear as reproductions with "sterling"on the base.What you see here,is the hugely skilled craftsmanship of the glass blowers and cutters.Both vase and base are in perfect condition.The base has been filled to secure it to the vase.The vase is 76mms tall and 82mms across the rim.Safe postage available at buyer's cost.Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
