Description
Here is a simply stunning very late Victorian sterling silver claret jug.The piece is in showroom condition and has mint hallmarks on the side and under the lid.It was produced by well respected silversmith's James Dixon & Son's( Cornish place Sheffield formed 1871)..and assayed in 1899(the last year of the Victorian period)..The piece is eight inches tall at it's highest point abd weighs a very satisfying 433 grams.It has been produced for the best of tables,being ornately decorated. Both cartouches are free from any engraving.I very much doubt that there is a cleaner example on the market at this price point. I will include insured and registered post in the asking price.
