Vintage Waltham

Lovely vintage Waltham automatic with plenty of period character, presented with its original Waltham box.

The watch features a very attractive silver/blue sunburst dial with applied gold-tone hour markers and hands, date window at 3 o’clock and a fluted gold-tone bezel. The dial is signed Waltham – 17 Jewels – Self-Winding – Shockresistant.

The watch is running extremely well. As shown on the timegrapher, it is producing a healthy 257° amplitude, 0.5 ms beat error and approximately +3 seconds/day at the time of testing – excellent figures for a vintage automatic.

It is fitted to a striking red textured leather strap with gold-tone buckle, which works particularly well with the gold case and gives it a great vintage look.

The case shows age-related wear and some loss/wear to the gold-tone finish, as can be seen clearly in the photographs. The dial presents very nicely for its age. I haven't tested the watch for water resistance, so as with any vintage watch I would keep it away from water.

A very attractive and increasingly uncommon vintage Waltham. Great little everyday vintage automatic or addition to a collection.
