Beautiful Antique Blue and White Transferware Willow Pattern Large Oval Platter, Unknown Maker, Probably Staffordshire-Made

I am continuing my effort to downsize, in advance of all our possessions having to go back into storage again in the next few months (the builders keep changing the dates!)

I have quite the selection of Blue and White and Willow Pattern which I have collected over the years and used for buffets, afternoon teas, and for display on my kitchen dresser, (which I no longer have) but I have too much for my needs, and so this fabulous platter can now go!

For sale here is a Beautiful Antique Blue and White Transferware Willow Pattern Large Oval Platter, Unknown Maker, Probably Staffordshire-Made,

This is a large oval antique platter which is not marked on the reverse so I cannot confirm the maker. It doesn’t have tripod marks so dates to post 1860’s, as tripod stilts were used in the Staffordshire potteries (and Scotland) between circa 1760 and circa 1860. But the platter is not a modern made example and definitely has some age to it and I would date it to late 1800’s/ early 1900’s.

It is in very good antique condition, with no chips, cracks or pattern loss but does have some age-related crazing.
It measures 16 inches/ 40 cm by 12.5 inches/ 32 cm.

This is lovely but also practical and would be a great addition to any willow pattern collection.

It would also look fabulous as part of a display of Willow pattern on a kitchen dresser or hung on a wall. It was on my mantlepiece for a number of years, but we now have no mantlepiece in our new house!
