Fabulous RARE Collectable Traditional Cornishware Storage Jar in the Very Rare and Discontinued Gold & White Colourway, TG Green, Restyled by Judith Onions, Circa 1968 to 1975

I am continuing my effort to downsize, it seems to be never-ending! I have so many ceramic storage jars and containers and utensil holders, more than I can possibly ever need!! I have quite an eclectic selection available including some TG Green Cornishware, Hornsea Saffron, and random other jars.

For Sale here is a Fabulous RARE Collectable Traditional Cornishware Storage Jar in the Very Rare and Discontinued Gold & White Colourway, TG Green, Restyled by Judith Onions, Circa 1968 to 1975.

This Fabulous lidded storage jar by TG Green is in the lovely Traditional Cornish Ware Pattern, most often seen in Blue and White, but this one is Gold & White, White (I think it should be called Custard and Cream, as that’s exactly what it looks like!!)

TG Green have been making this Classic Cornishware for just over 100 years and its popularity seems endless. In the 1960s,
Cornishware’s look was updated by talented young designer, Judith Onions, which she did by 'modernising' the shapes, but kept the same classic hooped design, albeit with some new colours including this fab and rare gold and white hooped design.
The restyled range was embraced as warmly as the originals. Over the past 20 years Onions’ designs, as well as the older ranges, have become highly prized by collectors, commanding ever-increasing prices especially the rarer colourways.

This It is stamped on the bottom with the Judith Onions 'Target' backstamp, dating it from 1968 to 1975. Made in England.

As I am only continuing to collect the Blue & White Striped Collection I can afford to pass on some pieces in the other colourways.

This Lidded Storage Jar stands about 5.5 inches/ 14 cm tall and measures roughly 4 inches/ 10 cm in diameter at the base and top.

The Jar is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks and no pattern loss or fading, as good as the day it was made at least 50 years ago. Even the rubber gasket is still soft and pliable, keeping the jar airtight. It’s a perfect size to store coffee beans, ground coffee or loose tea, sugar, or herbs/spices

An ideal gift for any collector of Cornishware, especially those who collect the rarer colourways, or someone like me who can never have enough storage containers!!!!

Cornishware is not cheap, and especially those items in rare colourways like this Colourway from the late 1960’s. Storage jars in this colourway can go for anything from about €50 to €100, plus customs, post and packaging, see photos. So this one is great value, buy it before I change my mind!!
