Fabulous Set of Four Vintage Retro Luminarc Long Emerald Green Stemmed Alsace White Wine Glasses, Made in France, Circa 1970, (Slim Tapered Stems)

Available here is a Fabulous Set of Four Vintage Retro Luminarc Long Emerald Green Stemmed Alsace White Wine Glasses, Made in France, Circa 1970, Slim Tapered Stems

These fabulous glasses scream the 1970's! Such a great shape with lovely clean lines and a beautiful shade of emerald green glass for the elegant long stems.

Made for drinking the white wines of the Alsace region of France and Germany, they were very popular throughout the 1970’s and 1980s. Ideal for serving wine, pre-dinner aperitifs or small cocktails, these stemmed wine glasses are the perfect addition to your midcentury barware collection! Apart from for wine, these glasses would also be perfect on the festive dinner table and could be used for a sherbert/sorbet course, yum, yum,!!

These glasses were made in the 1970's by J.G. Durand (Luminarc) of Verrerie Cristallerie dArques in France. They are also sometimes called Luminarc Arcoroc Dinnerware. The range was made with clear glass bodies of different sizes with long elegant stems in bright emerald green. Most of the bases have a molded France in tiny capital letters on the bottom - the Luminarc mark used in the early 1970s, but some are barely visible/hard to photograph. Production continued into the 1980/90’s as these were so popular.

Lots of people collect these glasses as the colour is just stunning and many use them strictly as a Christmas formal set for their holiday table. They also work well for St. Patrick’s Day!

All four are in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. I do have more available, another set of four, but I have split them into two lots are there are slight variations in the stem shape.
These four have the slim tapering stems. The other four have the slight thicker, straight stems. See the last photo for the stem comparison.

They stand just under 6.5 inches/16.5cm tall and the diameter just 2.5 inches/6.5cm, see the photos. The capacity is 4oz or 115ml.
