For sale is a creamer jug (like a small milk jug) of the TARA BROOCH pattern and made by Carrigaline Pottery Company Ltd of County Cork. Nicely decorated on both sides with an image of the Royal Tara brooch and shamrock sprigs.

The Carrigaline Pottery Company was a prolific producer of utility tableware (Carrigware) and tourist souvenirs from 1928 until 1980, when the company was sold on. From 1980 to 1983 they were renamed as the Cork Art Pottery and from 1983 as the Carrigdhoun Co-Operative Society, which closed and ceased production in 2003.

DESCRIPTION:
Size (excluding the handle): about 2 1/4" high x 3 3/16" width (58mm x 77mm).
Finish: screen transfer printed in 6 colours over the glaze.
Material(s): white earthenware.
Imprint: CARRIGALINE POTTERY CO LTD CORK IRELAND
Approximate age: late 1960s to 1980s.

CONDITION:
Fair condition. Crazing in glaze (as is common with these products) and partial wear to the gilt trim along the lip rim. Some staining in parts of the crazing. Still in usable condition.
