Hofbauer crystal bell, Byrdes Collection
Hofbauer crystal bell, Byrdes Collection
Description
A crystal bell from the "Byrdes Collection" (also known as "The Ruby Byrdes"), produced by the German manufacturer Hofbauer Crystal (often marked as originating from West Germany).
Items from this sought-after collector's line are crafted from high-quality lead crystal (24% PbO) and feature a traditional decorative technique: patterns are cut into an outer layer of glass that has been colored ruby red or amaranth (a style known as "ruby red cut-to-clear").
