Up for sale is a stunning, highly collectible vintage Renaissance Revival armorial glass Pokal (ceremonial stemmed goblet) manufactured by the renowned Glashütte Alfred Taube in Vohenstrauß, West Germany.

This piece is a magnificent mid-century museum-replica tribute to 16th-century German forest glass (Waldglas). It features a deep olive-green hue heavily and intentionally infused with a dense "seed" bubble texture to capture an authentic medieval aesthetic.

The craftsmanship on the bowl is exceptional, showcasing completely hand-painted, thick-relief polychrome enamel coats of arms (Reliefemaille) representing prominent historical noble families of the Holy Roman Empire, alongside a traditional German Gothic script toast.

House of Rottenhan: Features the iconic, intricately detailed gray-green heraldic wolf crest.
House of Zimmern & Mörspach: Features the rampant golden lion and crowned dragon shield.
House of Langenmantel: Features the red heraldic eagle and patrician geometric patterns of Augsburg.

FORM:
Features a deep cylindrical bowl tapering down to a beautiful hollow-blown baluster node stem and a wide, stable conical foot. The base exhibits a genuine, rough unpolished pontil mark on the underside—a true sign of manual, mouth-blown studio artistry.

Excellent vintage condition. The enamel paint is incredibly vibrant, crisp, and intact with no noticeable rubbing or loss to the imagery. No chips, cracks, flea bites, or structural damage to the rim, stem, or foot. A beautifully preserved piece of West German luxury art glass.
