Vintage Italian Pierre the Sommelier Silverplate Corkscrew Wine Bottle Opener

Vintage collectible 1980s Italian "Pierre the Sommelier" Corkscrew Wine Bottle Opener.
An exceptional quality piece of modern Italian design is this wonderful and stylish Pierre Le Sommelier corkscrew bottle opener designed by Aldo Columbo Italy and dating from around 1984. The heavily made corkscrew is silver plated with the body formed with molded designs as a sommelier's shirt, waistcoat and trousers and wearing a bow tie around his neck. His arms are formed as the leavers with molded cuffs with his head forming the screw top handle. This novelty piece has a round flat head with large protruding ears and with molded features, well-groomed hair and a large mustache. The corkscrew is marked SOMMELIER around the base.
