For sale is an antique porcelain crested china showing a coat-of-arms and made in the form of a medieval jug. Crested china pieces were originally sold as souvenirs in local shops and were very popular with visitors and tourists from the latter part of the 19th century into the 1920s. This piece carries the backstamp of the Norfolk Crest China pottery and was made for and originally sold by W.H. Smith & Son Ltd (W.H. S & S).

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 2" (51mm) height.
Material(s): 'eggshell' porcelain with a clear vitreous glaze.
Finish: black outline transfer print & hand-tinted with enamel colours. Painted gilt band around lip rim.
Imprint: NORFOLK CRESTED CHINA - W.H. S & S S
Approximate age: 1880s to c.1920.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Very minor wear to gilt band around the lip.
