Martin Ferris: Man of Kerry - J.J. Barrett - IRA, Sinn Fein & Kerry History

Martin Ferris: Man of Kerry by J.J. Barrett, a biography exploring the life of the Kerry republican and Sinn Féin politician.

Written by Ferris's lifelong friend and fellow Kerryman, the book offers a personal perspective on his journey from a promising GAA football career to involvement in the IRA, imprisonment and political life.

It follows Ferris through republican activity during the Troubles, periods on the run, arrest and imprisonment in Portlaoise, while also examining his Kerry upbringing, footballing background, friendships and family life.

The book also explores his later involvement in Sinn Féin and the political developments surrounding the Northern Ireland peace process.

An interesting account of modern Irish history, particularly where Kerry's GAA tradition, republican politics and the Troubles intersect.

Of particular interest to readers of Kerry history, Irish political biographies, the IRA, Sinn Féin and the Northern Ireland conflict.

Very good used condition, with only slight signs of handling to the cover and edges. Overall, the book remains very well presented. Please see photographs for condition.
