Description

Early Watkins Bee Exposure Meter in its original illustrated cardboard box with printed instruction sheet.

This pocket-watch-style photographic actinometer was used to calculate camera exposure times by comparing light-sensitive paper with a reference tint. It is an interesting early photography collectable believed to date from the early 20th century.

The meter has tarnishing, marks and general age-related wear. The box is heavily worn and stained, with fraying, creases and damage around the edges. No light-sensitive paper or additional accessories are shown, and the meter has not been tested for use.
