For sale is a junior-wings badge that would have been available for sale to child passengers flying with British Caledonian (BCal). BCal airlines were in operation from 1970 until they fully ceased operations in 1989.

British Caledonian airways was formed in 1970 from the merger of Caledonian Airways Ltd (est. 1961) and Freddie Laker's British United Airways. The new airline soon acquired the moniker “the UK’s Second Airline”.

By the mid-1980's, BCal was running into financial difficulties and in July 1987 they were taken over by the newly privatised British Airways plc. The British Caledonian livery ceased in 1989 when they were fully merged as part of British Airways plc.

This badge displays the BCal crest with its heraldic lion as adapted from the Scottish coat-of-arms.

A good condition plastic badge. No damage. Pin in good working order. There are some minor scratch marks.
