For sale is a rare badge issued by the London County Council (pre-1965) for the use of officials on duty at their annual horse shows. This badge shows the LCC arms and has two loops to take a dangler bar that would have denoted a specialist status such as a Judge, etc. This large and finely made badge was manufactured by the company of L. Simpson of London.

The COUNTY OF LONDON HORSE SHOW was an annual sporting event hosted by the London County Council (LCC) Parks Department and took place at Clapham Common during the first weekend in August.

The County of London was an administrative area that covered the City of London as well as much of outer London and was in existence from 1889 to 1965, when it was succeeded by the Greater London Council (GLC).

Size: 1 3/4" x 1 11/16" (45mm x 42.5mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 4 vitreous enamels.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: Pin & two loops to take a dangler bar.

Approximate age: 1940's to early 1960's.

CONDITION:
Excellent condition. No damage. Pin in working order. Badge actually looks better than in photos, these photos do not do this fine badge justice.
