For sale is a blood donor badge issued by the National Blood Transfusion Board (NBTS) of England and Wales. This tiepin badge would have been awarded by the NBTS for a minimum of ten blood donations. The badge displays the NBTS logo of two entwined hearts surmounted by a crown.

The NBTS was established by the Ministry of Health in 1946 to coordinate regional blood donation services across England and Wales. In 2005 the national blood donor services (by now, known as National Blood Service) was amalgamated with the UK Transplant services to form the NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT). Also from 2005, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would continue to run their own separate blood donor services.
