The Wide World Brotherhood (WWB) was a global fraternal club established in 1949 by Horace Pitt-Kethley and who at the time was also the editor of the famous 'Wide World' magazine. Membership to the WWB was open to all with a love for travel and adventure and the cost of joining was a once-off fee of 5 shillings. The ethos of WWB membership is summed up in this statement as being “linked by a common bond of a love of travel and adventure”.

This design of badge was issued in both buttonhole and brooch pin fitting for male and female members respectively.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: 7/8" diameter (about 22mm).
Material(s): Brass metal with 3 vitreous enamels.
Finish: Gilt.
Fitting: Buttonhole stud (horseshoe shaped clasp).
Imprint: VAUGHTONS LTD. B'HAM.
Approximate year(s) of issue: 1949 to late 1950's.

CONDITION:
A very good condition metal and enamel badge. No damage, enamels in good condition.
