Diecast Vintage Spot-On Mercedes Benz 230SL - Very Good Repaint by Seller/No Box

Being sold from my personal model collection is this pre-owned vintage Spot-On diecast model of a 1964. Mercedes-Benz 230SL (W113) in Hardtop format. It is a “ REPAINT ” by the seller.

** VERY GOOD REPAINT VINTAGE SPOT-ON MODEL WITHOUT ORIGINAL BOX **

* Spot-On released No278, Mercedes Benz 230SL, in 1965. Produced, like all Spot-on models, at 1:42 scale, the 230SL was available initially in metallic red (bronze) or yellow. Later there was a metallic blue option. The model featured a female driver and a male passenger. It had suspension and plated chrome parts. Spot-On withdrew the 230SL from the range in 1967.
* Spot-On were produced in Belfast, Northern Ireland by Tri-ang.

* The Mercedes-Benz 230SL, Code number W113) was produced from 1963. The hardtop version became known as the “Pagoda” SL Class. The 230SL was powered by an inline 2.3 Litre 6-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection using a mechanical pump. The rear-wheel drive car had independent rear suspension improving road handling. The power-assisted brakes were disc for the front disc and drum at the rear. Most of these early 230SLs were sold with both a removable (“Pagoda”) hard top and a soft top. For 1966, the 230SL was upgraded to the 250SL with the engine enlarged to 2.5 Litres. Then in 1968, the engine size was again increase to 2.8 Litres for the 280SL.
