NASA A Meeting with the Universe - 1981 Original EP-177 Space Exploration Book

A Meeting with the Universe: Science Discoveries from the Space Program.

An original 1981 NASA publication offering a fascinating look at how scientists understood the Solar System and the wider universe following the pioneering decades of space exploration.

Produced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), this is the original Educational Publication EP-177, written and edited by NASA scientists including Bevan M. French and astrophysicist Stephen P. Maran.

Across 221 large-format pages, it explores discoveries involving the Moon, planets, the Sun, Earth's space environment, stars, galaxies, quasars, X-rays and the distant universe. It also examines human spaceflight, weightlessness and radiation.

Lavishly illustrated in colour with NASA photographs, planetary imagery, astronomical observations and diagrams.

Published in 1981, following the Apollo missions and early planetary exploration but before many later discoveries, the book provides a remarkable snapshot of space science at the beginning of the Space Shuttle era.

An attractive vintage publication for NASA enthusiasts, space exploration collectors, astronomy readers and anyone interested in the history of science.
