For sale is a pair of vintage tic-tac badges issued in 1976 to commemorate the American Bi-Centenary of Independence. These badges still with their original backing board.

Titled the "Spirit of '76", their design is adapted from an 1891 oil painting by artist Archibald Willard (1836-1918). The painting also called the Spirit of '76 is a national icon of American independence and shows three combatants marching through a battle during the American Revolution - a young boy drummer, an older drummer and a fife (flute) player.

Size: badge about 9/16" x 3/4" (14mm x 19mm).
Material(s): diecast alloy with 3 enamels.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: pin with butterfly clutch.

CONDITION:
Both badges in excellent condition. Pins in working order. backing board in very good condition with two extra pin holes. No damage.
