WWII British Civilian Respirator with Original Box

Original British civilian respirator/gas mask dating from the Second World War, complete with its original cardboard storage box. The box retains period packing and fitting instructions inside the lid, together with a handwritten former owner’s name and address.

The black rubber facepiece is marked Medium and retains its panoramic transparent eyepiece, adjustable webbing harness and attached metal filter canister.

Historical display or collector’s item only. It has not been tested and must not be worn or relied upon for respiratory protection. Vintage filters of this type may contain asbestos or other hazardous filtering materials. Do not open, dismantle, test or disturb the filter; it should remain sealed and intact.

There is substantial age and storage wear, including dust, surface marks, aged rubber and webbing, and a cloudy or scratched eyepiece. The box is heavily worn with staining, creasing, tears and losses around the edges. Please examine all photographs carefully.
