Vintage Zodiac Chronograph

A beautiful and increasingly collectible vintage Zodiac chronograph, dating from approximately the 1950s, featuring a stunning silver dial, gold-tone case and distinctive sculpted lugs.

This is a fantastic example of mid-century Swiss watchmaking, with plenty of character and a particularly attractive design.

The watch features a lovely silver sunburst dial with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals and hour markers, complemented by two recessed chronograph subdials and a tachymeter scale around the outer edge.

Inside is a Swiss manual-winding chronograph movement, marked Zodiac and 17 jewels. The movement is beautifully constructed and can be seen in the photographs with the caseback removed.

The gold-tone case features unusual sculpted lugs, giving the watch a distinctive appearance on the wrist. It is fitted with a brown leather strap and matching gold-tone buckle.

The watch is in good working order, including the chronograph function. It presents very nicely for its age, with an attractive dial showing some natural ageing and patina.

The case has some wear to the gold plating, particularly around the edges and lugs, consistent with its vintage nature. Please see photographs for the overall condition.
