1970s Certina DS Turtle

Up for sale is a classic Certina DS-2 Automatic from the 1970s, powered by the highly regarded Certina Caliber 25-66 (17 jewels, Swiss made).

This is a true vintage DS (“Double Security”) model featuring Certina’s iconic turtle caseback medallion and shock-protected movement.

Condition & Performance

Running strong and keeping time at approximately +8 seconds/day

Amplitude around 271°, beat error approx. 1.3ms (see timegrapher photo)

Movement is clean and recently inspected

Case shows honest vintage wear and light surface scratches consistent with age

Dial has attractive even patina

Caseback engraving remains crisp

The DS system’s internal shock protection ring (visible in photos) is intact.
