Vintage Oris Pointer

For sale is this beautiful vintage 31mm Oris Pointer Date, believed to date from the 1950s, featuring a striking black dial, contrasting white Arabic numerals and the distinctive red-tipped pointer date hand.

Powered by the Oris Calibre 677 manual-wind movement, this is a lovely example of classic Swiss watchmaking with plenty of vintage character.

The watch has been freshly serviced by myself, with the movement fully dismantled, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled. It is running very well, with excellent amplitude and a very low beat error.

The timegrapher reading following servicing shows:

- Amplitude: 328°
- Beat error: 0.1ms
- Rate: -16 seconds per day

These are excellent results for a mechanical watch of this age, although actual accuracy will vary depending on wearing conditions.

The watch features a particularly attractive black dial with an outer 1–31 date track, small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock and a red-tipped pointer hand indicating the date. The date is adjusted manually, without a quickset function.

The 31.5mm stainless steel case presents well for its age, with some light signs of wear consistent with a watch approximately 70 years old. The dial retains plenty of vintage charm, and the watch is fitted with a smart black leather strap.

A fantastic little vintage Oris, especially appealing to collectors who appreciate smaller, traditionally sized watches and interesting mechanical movements.
