Diecast Model Le Mans Winning Bentley Le Mans 1930 1st - IXO 1:43

Description

Being sold from my personal model collection is a pre-owned 1:43 scale diecast model car by IXO of the 1930 Le Mans winning Bentley Speed Six, Bentley’s fifth victory in this very famous race and their fourth consecutive.

IXO LM1930 Bentley 6.5 Litre Speed Six 1930 Le Mans #4 1st Barnato & Kidston
** Le Mans 24 Hours Winner **
* Bentley scored a 1-2 finish with their Speed Six models, with the winning car from 1929 repeating it's success. This diecast model from IXO is a very good representation with plenty of good detail and attractive paintwork.
* After their over whelming Le Mans success of 1929, the Bentley works team returned in 1930 with three 6.5 Litre Speed Six cars including the winning 1929 car, Old Number 1. The works cars were backed up by a separate team of three 4.5 Litre Blower Bentleys entered by Tim Birkin. The main threat came from the lone supercharged 7 Litre Mercedes-Benz. The race started with a great battle between the Mercedes-Benz and Barnato's Speed Six Bentley, with the lead changing hands several times. On the 59th lap the Mercedes challenge was over when it retired. Barnato and Kidston in Old Number 1 now had a large lead which they held for the remainder of the race. Carrying race number 4 they completed 179 laps of the original long circuit, 2,930 km. Their teammates, Frank Clement and Richard Watney, finished second 6 laps in arrears, for a Bentley Speed Six 1-2.
* The Speed Sixes were fitted with Van den Plas 4-door bodies. They were powered by Bentley's 6 cylinder in line SOHC engine of 6,597cc with 4 valves per cylinder, two SU carburettors and Twin Spark Ignition developing 200 bhp at 3,500 rpm
* Note :- Winning car is known as Old Number 1.
* Note :- Captain Woolf Barnato won three consecutive Le Mans 24 Hour races, 1928, 1929 & 1930, from only three participations in the race.

* Very good quality, diecast model in very good condition and displays very well.
* Model is in its own clear plastic display case and with all its original outer printed cardboard packaging.
* Please examine photographs for condition for model, display case and outer packaging.
* Model has been on display in a glass fronted cabinet.
* Other photographs available on request.
* Model priced at €25.00.
