Corgi Toys 303S Mercedes-Benz 300SL Open Sports White - Good Original Condition without Box
** GOOD ORIGINAL VINTAGE CORGI TOYS MODEL WITHOUT ORIGINAL BOX **

* Corgi Toys released their first version of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster as the “Open Sports” No303 in 1958 at a UK price of 3/6. It was initially produced in blue and white at 1:46 scale. Corgi replaced No303 with the updated 303S model in 1961. In this case the “S” treatment signified the fitting of four-wheel suspension. In addition to blue and white, a chrome finish was available.
* The 300SL Roadster (W198) was the open top variant of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL. Introduced in 1957, the roadster was the successor to the famous 300SL Gullwing and was created to appeal to the Californian market. These cars featured two traditional passenger doors and a folding cloth roof. The 300 SL Roadster featured the high compression version of the Mercedes-Benz M198 engine. This 3.0 Litre (2,996cc) in-line six-cylinder engine generated 240 bhp. The car was fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Roadster production ran from 1957 until 1963, with a total of 1,858 examples built.
